virtual memory

    Can someone help me, can u explain what pageing file means and what it does, it talks about this under[ virtual memory] in peformance options.

    Hi,

    This may have been already covered in the link Snowbound provided (I didn't look), but ...

    If you've been using Win a while, and are familiar with earlier versions, the "page file" is pretty much the same as what we used to call a swap file -- simply a huge file on your drive where memory contents could be saved if Win needed the physical memory for something else temporarily.
