If you want a free ad blocker for IE7, I find IE7 Pro works very well, although it doesn't yet make such a good job of re-formatting the page as Adblock Plus with Firefox.

After using KIS for a few hours I have to say their banner blocking is a joke. The pages are full of white holes where the banners were and quite some banners don't get blocked at all. The same goes for IE7 Pro. Unacceptable if one is used to AdMuncher. I think AdMuncher (good old perpetual license) will remain on my machine for the time being.

I doubt if it's technically possible for NOD v3 to retain the same light weight with more features included, e.g. firewall and registry monitor...Fingers crossed

And personally I think it'd a good idea to change the product name to 'ESET Internet Security' or 'ESET Security Suite' when version 3 is released. NOD indeed sounds weird

From what I've gathered so far, version 3 will also include a stand-alone AV, so it is quite possible to retain the same small footprint in regards to system resources.

For stand-alone AV, yes. But for an all-in-one security suite, which will come as a seperate product, it'd be rather difficult, almost improbable...Anyway, let's hope for the best

Yes , may be. I was assured that the Security Suit would be really light security software. :thumb:

Version 3 has to be compatible with Vista. There are very few firewalls that will run in Vista at the moment, because of the change in architecure. I'm guessing that that is what is holding up version 3. I mean if the major firewall vendors are struggling to produce stable product, that would certainly explain why ESET is still working out bugs, wouldn't you say?

I don't think anyone here is saying, and no one should be, that Eset should hasten version 3 development and deliver the prdouct prematurely. Of course Eset should, in its own interest and in ours, do what it can to get the product to market as soon as is viable, but not until all the bugs are worked out and it is ready to hold true to NOD's reputation. But that doesn't preclude them from giving us some indication, even a figure in the general ballpark, for when to expect its release, as I think they should.

Exactly. I'm eager to know, even if it's a ballpark figure, how the development progresses, and when it is scheduled for public test. But maybe Eset doesn't wish to get bound to any date commitment as it is still on the drawing board.

It's like you love to watch Adriano play, but you don't know when his next game is. I reckon a year before, Microsoft wouldn't have let us know when Vista's out on shelf since XP's already good.
