Thinking about changing from FAT32 to NTFS and while doing a little reading on the matter, came across the following recommendation.

(“It’s recommended to format a partition with NTFS rather than convert from FAT or FAT32. Formatting a partition erases all data on the partition and allows you to start with a clean drive”.)

Question please: If I format my main hard drive C: as NTFS, then restore an image from my backup hard drive D: made with FAT32 onto my main hard drive C:, would this be the same as formatting with NTFS and reinstalling all my software, or just the same as if I had converted the drive from FAT32 to NTFS?
