I've had ANTS installed for awhile now, and would very much like to update the signature files. The problem, however, is that *I* have to list the server where ANTS can download updates from. I haven't had much luck finding one. Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi chris & welcome to Wilders!!

You have the best chance of getting an answer regarding the use of and updates to Ants here in the "other anti-trojan software" forum. Hopefully, someone who has the answer will be along soon. :)

    Best wishes,

    Chris,

What version of Ants are you running? It appears that with the delay of the new version, the old version may not be getting updated any longer... But, you should take a look at this thread to be sure we're talking about the same thing (it's rather old I'm afraid and perhaps out of date):

Also, there is a link to the Ants home forum in this thread, which should help you get your answer:

Thanks for the reply, LowWaterMark! ;) I really appreciate the help. The threads you listed were useful. It appears ANTS 2.0 is outdated and no longer updated. Well...there goes that.

Any suggestions for an ANTS alternative?

    Thanks in advance!

    :)

    Chris,

    Apologies for interfering..

Merely non-freeware alternatives (in the end, you'll get what you pay for..) Ever considered TDS? ;).

    regards.

    Admin,

Interference is *always* welcome. Thanks for replying! I hear what your saying. I don't however, think that's true in every case. Many freeware alternatives are by far a *better* product then there shareware competition. Take ZA for example.

TDS? I'm not familiar with that. Please elaborate.

    Thanks! ;)

    Hi Chris,

Actually, what Paul meant was that specifically, in the "Anti-Trojan" product space, there aren't many products that are both free, and at a "final production release" readiness level, at least at this point. Certainly, we agree that there are many good free Firewall products, also excellent free Spyware removers, and a few free Anti-Virus products, and much more out there, but not too much in the way of Anti-Trojan products.

If you check out our of Free Tools page, you'll see a wide range of excellent free products, but you'll notice the Anti-Trojan section is pretty sparse...

    http://www.wilders.org/free_tools.htm

As to the TDS reference Paul made, he was referring to the DiamondCS product TDS-3. (He actually had a link on the TDS word in his post.) This is their primary website:

    http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/

The Official TDS public support forum is here at the Wilders Security Board:

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/index.php?board=5

You may want to look at our Anti-Trojan page for a few product alternatives and overviews. TDS-3, Trojan Hunter and BOClean are probably the best available AT products at this point.

    Hope this helps,

There is a 2.1 version by the way.

No free one. I would choose TrojanHunter or TDS or a powerfull anti virus software ;o).
