I was uninstalling Process Guard, and I think Mamutu screwed up my uninstall.

    I have since removed Mamutu.

I tried to reinstall ProcessGuard, but it says that it is still running.

I see there is an entry in the Services for ProcessGuard, via WinPatrol.

What do I need to do, to remove ProcessGuard so I can reinstall. I still have the Program Files folder for ProcessGuard but it is empty. I was using Revo Uninstaller.

    Thanks for any advice.

did you restart the comp? can you see what PG process is running (via task manager/show process for all users ticked) and then terminate it?

I have uninstalled improperly with ProcessGuard self protection not turned off.

Dont know what to do next.

Will I just always have Process Guard running without a GUI to interface with it? Monkeying up my computer, using system resources and trashing up the inards.

Kill anything processguard through taskmanager then open an admin command prompt and copy and paste the below then hit enter.

    sc delete DCSPGSRV

Then reboot and see how you go?

    Using System Restore worked.

That seems to have worked. It also brought back Mamutu which I uninstalled after PG.

System Restore point was saved by Revo Uninstaller at the time I ran it to uninstall PG.

I will now uninstall properly by disabling protection in the PG GUI, and then uninstalling.

Thanks for holding my hand, and the links to useful information.

Thanks Franklin, but I seemed to have a satisfactory outcome with System Restore. I can move forward from there. And I learned a few commands and tricks in the process, to boot. With minimal frustration and no loss of data worth mentioning.

    Oops!

I may have spoken to soon.

I cant uninstall ProcessGuard, the uninstall exe fill does not exist.

I cant install a free install over ProcessGuard, either. Hoping to regain that executable.

what happens when you try and install free version? does it say it is still running?

edit: did you try installing in Safe mode, does it work? if not

go in Safe mode and delete these manually
