Yes, but I also added another 8 websites to the trusted list to avoid problems. I must say that a certain adult website refuses to work at all when uBlock is enabled, so they are getting better and better at detecting uBlock, this is troubling. I just saw that Vivaldi's adblocker is strangely enough not detected.

This might be possible, I'm still using Viv 6.1, will test it on Viv 6.5. But like I said, when you disable uBlock, it seems to be solved, so it's shady to say the least.

According to that page there are only 2:
    Code:
    chrome-extension-scheme
    moz-extension-scheme
I had quite some obsolete entries in there, so I deleted these.
I wonder why they are not automatically deleted during update.

why should touch an update and thus break current rules?

I mean delete (or comment out) only the obsolete default rules, not the ones you added yourself.

and how does ublock know which rules and manually created? rules dont have a flag. and for me, sometimes i compare rules for each browser with notepad++, copy and paste in two tabs and compare, and copy the result back to all. so ublock need a code to find such rules and delete them each time. sorry, but this is intrusive and neither nor acceptable.

    Thanks.
I didn't know this had changed.
That page still showed eight predefined trusted sites when I posted on March 10.

As six entries were obsolete since 1.56.1b1, but 1.56.1b1 was more recent than 1.56, it's no wonder the entries are still there in 1.56. I would expect them to be removed with the update to 1.57.
However, if you mean you're on 1.57 already, and the obsolete entries are still there, it may be as Brummelchen suggested.

I'm on the 1.56.1rc5 Pre-release, in which the change "Remove obsolete trusted directives" is already implemented.
But I guess it only applies to new installs and the obsolete ones in existing installs are just disregarded.

i will try a test in a few minutes to see if removal is event triggered - reset, export/import.

as expected after a code review. removal is event triggered. on update, on import from file, but not after manual insertion, not on firefox shutdown/startup.

    anyhow such rules are removed.

uBlock Origin 1.57.0 is now available in Firefox.

    Regarding Trusted sites,
    https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Dashboard:-Trusted-sites
After updating to uBlock Origin 1.57.0,
    - on one system I see in 'Trusted sites', obsolete built-in trusted directives were removed;
    - on a second system, obsolete built-in trusted directives were not removed.

My settings were the same on both systems for Firefox and uBlock Origin.
Like nicolaasjan, I cleaned up obsolete built-in trusted directives manually.

    Also,
    - on one system, I see in 'Filter lists' pane 'Cookie notices' and 'Social widgets' now got their own sections;
    - on a second system, 'Cookie notices' and 'Social widgets' are still listed under 'Annoyances'.

Again, my settings were the same on both systems for Firefox and uBlock Origin.
Disabling and re-enabling uBlock Origin and restarting Firefox did not make any difference.

I have no idea what caused these discrepancies.
It's a bit messy to me.

These are the predefined trusted site directives that still should be in 'Trusted sites':
    chrome-extension-scheme
    moz-extension-scheme

These are now obsolete, but not always automatically deleted:
    about-scheme
    chrome-scheme
    edge-scheme
    opera-scheme
    vivaldi-scheme
    wyciwyg-scheme

Yes, I had read the Caution but, was unsure what's what.
So, predefined trusted site directives above the Caution remain.
and other predefined trusted site directives may be deleted as Obsolete, no longer used directives.
    Thanks

I suppose the change in 1.57.0, "Add 'Social widgets', 'Cookie notices' sections in 'Filter lists' pane", is meant for all browsers; it doesn't say it is not.

If you see that 'Cookie notices' and 'Social widgets' are not separate from 'Annoyances', I suppose that is the same issue as I see in one of my two installations.

As I said, I have no idea what causes these discrepancies. I think it's a bit sloppy.
    Edit
Where I said I thought it was a bit sloppy -- it doesn't hurt, and I definitely cannot do better, so I'd better shut up. :)

hmm, "Annoyances" show 9/9 here, not 0, not 16.

i would export settings, reset ubo and import settings to get a proper restart.
or open uBo settings and change the end of address to
edit: most right button clear cache. but this is all times exceptional! no regular use!

Thank you very much, Brummelchen. :thumb:
I hadn't thought of trying that.
It worked very well. In the 'Filter lists' pane, 'Social widgets', and 'Cookie notices' sections are now added.
