I have an encrypted usb for which I forgot the password. I know all but one section of the password, and I know my computer can handle a brute force of the missing characters. The rest of the password is more complex, and is 20+ characters in length. Brute forcing the entire password is not reasonable.

    format: * = known character

    ***********o_Oo_O****************

There is no backdoor and there is no brute force that could break long/secure passwords.

Technical, I know that a brute force will not work for the whole password.

kakaka, I set up Brutus. I don't have the password yet but it only just started. It is doing exactly what I hoped it would do. Thank you.

edit: I don't think this will be necessary in my case, but is there a program like Brutus that will use the GPU instead of the CPU?
