    Hello,

I had encrypted my windows partition with TrueCrypt (Partition 1). Then I installed linux on another partition (Partition 2). It installed grub in the MBR and the TC bootloader is no longer available. I don't have access to the TC RescueDisk but I have the password.

Question: How can I recover the data on the encrypted partition?

    What I've tried:

    - Mount the partition using TC on linux: Password incorrect or not a TC volume (the password is correct)

    - Installed windows on another partition and tried to mount TC on it: same as the linux

    - Tried to mount with the option "without pre-boot authentication" and "use backup header embedded in volume if available"

    - Tried to change partition letter: no success

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance.

    You can't, the encryption-key is gone .

Well, I was afraid of that. I could recover the other windows I had encrypted with bitlocker, but with the TrueCrypt I think its a dead end.

    Thanks for the reply tough!
