Is it necessary for TI 8.0 to start up programs e.g.Image Monitor, schedhlp before being being used and then not cancelling them after TI is finished. I'v been trying to clean out my Task List and it's full of left over or unecessary programs. These programs use resources and may cause problems of instability in the operating system.

    Hi glicht

The way it's implemented is probably not ideal. However, TI is what it is and bear in mind that the scheduler services need to run in the background at all times for those folks that have set up scheduled backups.

For clarification on what the three TI services do, have a read of this <thread>.

    Regards

Thank you glicht for this question. Posing something similar was high on my list of todo items. I now have a full backup of my disk. Every two weeks or so, I'll do an incremental (Hey this is miles ahead of where I used to be). I don't need a bunch of programs running in the background and taking up resources. I'll decide when it's time to do the incremental. But I haven't had time to investigate the methodology and consequence of removing those resource parasites.
