I have a case with IE launching by itself and going to various sites. WHen browsing, I am automatically redirected to other sites (no porn thank God!) Anyway, looking for some help to track down how this is being done. I have been able to stop the activity via a HOSTS file and manually adding entries as they popped up. Looks like I got them all - BUT again, I'd like some info on where to look in settings, registry, etc. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I've done that and much more. What I am trying to find out is whether there is a registry setting or java script that enables the browser to launch automatically. Or is this so complex that I can never find the source of the problem. Thanks.

I think you have some form of Browser Hijacking, I would suggest that you need to run HijackThis and post your log at one of the forums listed here: http://a-sap.org/

Keep in mind the following quote:

    Hope this helps...

Let us know how you go...

    Cheers :D
