    Were you joking, westernmetaphor?

Even with Tor, you are toast if you download tracking malware

Better than just Tor, use TAILS (latest is 8.1), but be sure to upgrade TAILS to use the latest Tor (from the Tor website repositories) which has just been upgraded to 0.2,2,34, and do the same with Torsocks (from the Tor website) which has been upgraded to 1.2. To do this you should use the Tor repositories rather than any Linux distribution.

HideMyAss is a non-starter since it caves to warrants for user information rather than keeping no logs to protect user privacy.
