A couple of weeks ago, I downloaded and installed Spyware Blaster. I went online, received one Spyware Blaster Update, surfed around, got offline.

The next time I tried to go online, I had a big problem. I could dial-up and make a connection, but my Internet Explorer (IE 6) wouldn't work. IE would open, but all I would get was a message at the top saying "Cannot Find Server" and "This Page Cannot Be Displayed". When trying other links, same result. In other words, I was online but couldn't go anywhere.

When attempting to view my Outlook Express email, I got:
"Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D"

I called my ISP Tech Support (3 different times talking to three different people). Nothing we tried would fix this. Finally, I was told to try reinstalling my "Communications Stack". I did, and it fixed the problem!

This same problem happened again, a couple of nights ago. Once again, I reinstalled the Communications Stack, but this time it did not fix the problem. I was able to get my IE to work, but not my Outlook Express. Just prior to "my problem" happening again, I had opened and updated Spyware Blaster.

On a hunch, I removed Spyware Blaster from my computer, restarted it, and the problem was instantly solved.

Apparently there is something about Spyware Blaster that doesn't agree with my computer. I wouldn't have a clue as to what that would be, but I just thought I'd let you know.........

My Computer is an HP Pavilion running Windows ME, 64 ram, processor Celeron 768Mhz.

    Sincerely............Montana Lady

No. In fact (up until now) I've never heard of "Terra.es".

I've read all the Spyware Blaster troubleshooting information I can find (Including your link to the Tips and Tricks)

    More facts to my situation:
I can install Spyware Blaster without any problems.
I do not get any missing DLL messages.
I do not get any .OCX error messages.
I do not get any "Runtime Errors".

I cannot find anything that addresses "Socket Errors" relating to Spyware Blaster.

Please note, I am not complaining about Spyware Blaster, and would love to be able to use it.

Until then, I stand by my original thread (weird as it may be).......

    Thanks for your reply.....Montana Lady

    Hey ML,

Before recommending a possible fix by installing LSPFix.exe....would you mind following the below instructions and post a HighJackThis log.

    Download HijackThis.exe from here.
    - This is a direct download link. You should save this program to a permanent folder on your system, not your desktop!
    Run HijackThis.exe
    Press "Scan" button.
When done the "Scan" button will change to "Save Log", press that.
Save the log as a text file.
You'll need to copy and paste the contents of this log to a post here.
