A friend has asked me to buy her some back-up software.

I can only find ver11 of TI Home edition for sale - is it basically the same as v10?

I remember when I registered ver10 I had to download a big patch for it - does the same apply to ver11 ?

I don't think you will find a lot of people who liked TI version 11, but in any case it has been superceded now by TI 2009. In my opinion v10 was more stable, but advances in hardware has resulted in it no longer being able to support some of the newer equipment. Try TI2009 before you buy though and make sure it does what you need.

Don't bother with version 11; it ws never fit for release. If you can find a vendor still selling ATI10 it's the best version Acronis has made so far in terms of reliability -- even better than the current release of ATI12/2009. However, it won't work on some newer hardware - in that re ATI12 has the advantage.

But you can't get a free trial of ATI10 anymore -- so your lowest risk option is to get a trial version of ATI12/2009 and see if it fits your needs. And don't be surprised if you get a few call-backs.

    good luck,
