Before a scheduled task can be created, a Backup Location must be created. It easy to go ahead through the dialogs: Schedule Task -> Welcome -> Select Backup Type -> Partition Selection -> Archive Location then select the drive letter and create a folder using the provided "Create Folder" button.

Clicking next takes you to Backup Type dialog instead of the "Policy" dialog as shown on Page 51 of the TI 10 User guide.

The thing is: when the user gets to the "Backup Archive Location" dialog and clicks the "Backup Locations" entry in the tree, there must needs be a backup location already created via the "Create Backup Location" in another thread. There is no way to create the needed backup folder at that time.
    Confusing.

    Hello ealger,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please note that as you said, in order to store the backup archive to the Backup Location it should first be create via Create Backup Locations Wizard ("Create and Configure Backup Locations" in the "Pick a Tools" group or select the "Backup Locations" category on the sidebar). It is made by design.

    Thank you.

But Aleksandr, you don't have to put a backup in a "Backup Location" right? You can put a backup anywhere, can't you?

    Hello David07666,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Yes, you are right, it is not necessary to store the backup archive to Backup Location. Backup archive can be stored to any supported by Acronis True Image 10.0 Home media: local or external hard drive, CD or DVD discs etc. However, if you would like to take advantage of automatic archives management function the backup should be stored to Backup Location.

    Thank you.
