Thunderbird 3.1.X with Eset extension enabled crashes when closing

Hi,
I wanted to reply to the Thunderbird 3.1.2 with Nod32 crashes when closing thread but I got a "Sorry, that thread is too old to be replied to. Please look for a more current thread on the same subject or start a new thread for your post." error message.

Hence this revival thread.

It still happens with Thunderbird 3.1.10 and Nod32 4.2.67.10 on Windows XP SP3.

I think I've isolated the problem on my computer.
It always occurs if the last thing I'm viewing before closing Thunderbird is a post in a newsgroup.
It doesn't happen if the last thing I'm viewing is a regular message in a Pop3 account or an article in an RSS feed.

If I disable the "ESET Smart Security Extension", it doesn't crash even if the last thing I'm viewing before closing TB is a newsgroup post.

Can you reproduce the problem?

Can you please confirm the issue persists with latest build (4.2.71) of ESET NOD32?

Yes, the problem still occurs with Nod32 4.2.71.2.

I've reproduced the issue here in my environment. As you said, I got the crash error while reading a newsgroup and close TB.

However, I did the following and the crash has not re-occurred yet:

1. Close TB.
2. Open ESET NOD32 main window.
3. Enter the Advanced Setup tree (F5).
4. Go to Miscellaneous > Email client integration.
5. Deselect integration with TB.
6. Open TB.
7. Close and see the issue is not present.
8. Re-activate integration with TB within EAV advanced settings.

After doing these steps, I'm not getting any more crash errors. Could your please check it?

No problems here with v. 4.2.71 nor v5 beta. TB has never crashed with ESS integration enabled when having a newsgroup post open on exit.
