Based on the good reviews I bought Acronis recently (switched from
    Drive Image).

Today I did my first restore and did the most logical things during the
restore: select the restore-file, select the drive to be restored on, select
verify, select active and did the restore.

    Restore completed successfully.

    Reboot.
    Read-error!!
    alt-ctrl-del

I did the restore from CD-ROM
    same problem.

I had to fallback on a DriveImage restore (which I still had, luckely!)

    There it showed...

    My D+E partitions HAVE GONE!!!
    That means:
    - all the emails, office stuff, etc.etc.!!!
    - all the stored program files (software).

    GREAT!!

Seems Acronis can't handle a simple ATA-RAID-0, something good old
    DriveImage 6.0 can.

A total of around 60-70GB of software and data has gone!!

    THANK YOU ACRONIS!!

    Yeah I know, backup, etc.etc.
If it is a HD-failure, then it is my fault/stupideness, now it is Acronis
    that screwed up!

    Hello mrwul,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

Could you please tell the model of your controller and describe in details how you creted the image and how you restored it?

    Thank you.

Also, if you haven't deleted the image yet, you can use TI's explore funtion to retrieve your data files, etc, can't you? Re-installing software is not a big deal. It's the data that matters. Good luck.

    Hello to you,

I am usin the onboard RAID controler of the Asus A7V333-motherboard,
viz. Promise 20276 RAID (using MBFastTrack 133 v.2.00.1.23 driver).

I installed Acronis True Image and created an image whilst Windows running.
The image-file I stored on a different HD.

    File: C_Partition_050105.tib - 1.335.848.960 bytes.

    My RAID-drive is C, D, E, F
the separate drive is G and another one H.

Whilst restoring I noticed not all drives to be available.
The *.tib-file could be found on E: whilst in the restore mode.

I selected C to restore it on and got another window saying
space before 0, space used 7,8gb (my C drive) space after NN GB (I donot
    remember the amount of Gigs).

Anyway, I did select C so I was confident that everything would be okay.
In the end it appeared that TI messed up the partitions...

I had to recreate the partitions and obviously I lost quite some files... :-((
It has shaken up my confidence in TI and donot know whether i can safely
use the product in future,i.e. that it will not happen again.
(BTW I need a driver on diskette whilst installing XP. On the other hand, DriveImage does
not require loading a driver and whilst restoring the first time,
the driver was loaded by XP).

Anyway, I read that Acronis supports:
"All levels of IDE and SCSI RAID controllers support"
