Would this include a fix to the loopback vulnerability? (where running a local proxy allows any application Internet access via its ruleset). There does not seem to be any documentation on this.

 

If it is the Proxy applications such as Adsubtract - Mailwasher - I have read that this is not included in the fixes and there do not seem to be any plans to fix this one yet apart from rule configuration by the user.

That vulnerability appears to be a separate issue from the lack of local proxy access control, sorry.

 

Yes and I think that they're spending most of their time on probably Version 5.6 or Version 6 that will have that new engine, which will deal with the local proxy issue. So I look for a Beta release towards the end of the year.
