    Hi,

    Recently, two or three builds ago, you added drivers to support the Promise SX4000 RAID Controller to the Linux Boot CD. This was really good, but the SX4000 is old now and has been replaced by products like the SX4100 and SX4300 which support SATA drives and much larger arrays.

    Promise have an open source driver available on their Web Site for Linux, as well as specific driver versions for some Linux distributions.

    Is there any chance you could add the driver support for the SX4100 to the True Image boot CD?

    Best Regards,
    Trevor.

    Hello Trevor,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    First of all, please boot from the special Bootable Rescue CD created using the latest build (937) and see how it recognizes your RAID array.

    You can download the latest build (937) of Acronis True Image 8.0 here: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/

    To get access to updates you should create an account at:
    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/
    then log in and use your serial number to register your software.

    If the problem still persists with the latest build (937) of Acronis True Image 8.0 then please create Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    Please also create Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy;

    Send these files to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. We will do our best in order to implement the support for this RAID controller as soon as possible.

    Thank you.

    Hi Alexey,

    Thanks for your reply.

    I am currently running build 937 and during startup of the Bootable Rescue CD it does not announce the existance of the Promise SX4100 Controller. Unlike with the SX4000 where a startup message was issued announcing the driver version and the size and type of memory on the controller.

    I will check again this evening and perform the generation of the sysinfo.txt and run the Acronis Report Utility as you have asked. I'll be back in touch soon.

    Thanks again,
    Trevor.
