    Hello Kyle.

Thanks for keeping us updated on this great app.
A feedback - I have VMware Workstation 6.0.4 installed and "Allow beta" feature unchecked in Sumo. But I am still being warned on the latest beta (6.5) from VMware. Not a biggie for me, just thought you might wanna know.

    Cheers,

    @Kyle,

Sumo is getting better and better - thank you!

One suggestion: Why don't you add an option to the settings called something like "Remember last check results after restart" ? This would save time particularly if the list of installed products is rather long and if I don't want to start a new check every time.

Question: Are applications manually added also reported to your database so that all Sumo users benefit from their inclusion?

    Thanks for these comments !

Concerning your suggestions : it is already in my ToDo list. Maybe for v2.3 ;-)

Concerning database feeding by users : other users will benefit from any software "checked" by SUMo, whatever the method used to get it in the list (auto scan or manually added).

As a consequence : if you like SUMo, spread the word ! The more people will use SUMo the better it will get.

    You're welcome.

Great - thanks for this info.

I will, Kyle. What I particularly like is the fact that Sumo is a very light app and not so blown-up compared to Secunia and Updatestar.

I'll keep SUMo light and exclusively focussed on its task.

    Good to know :)

One last remark: I said that I will spread the word. On the other hand it would be certainly useful if you could add some more detailed info (regarding features etc.) to the Sumo site. At the moment it's, well, a little bit meager ;) I'm not sure if providing the link to that site alone is convincing enough ...

"Hardware-related" updates should often be ignored.

Good luck and come here if you need help !

I have found a bug in this new version 2.2.2.54 - The new legend explaining what the icons mean

When you resize the window horizontally the description of sumo overlaps with the legend

And also (not sure if this a bug!) the 'gear' icon is not fully shown

    No problem :p

I have also noticed some of the company names are missing - on two of mine:

    - Spywareblaster by Javacool Software LLC

    - picard by MusicBrainz

    Oh yeah forgot to add:

I also have a beta version of IObit's Advanced Windows Care 3 - v2.8.0, but SUMo displays my version number as 2.9.16.468

EDIT: Ah ha, I know the reason behind this problem. SUMo reads the 'File Version' under a .exe's details tab - This is where it says 2.9.16.468, but under 'Product Version' it says '3.0.0.0'

So this problem is to do with the individual product software developers' rather than SUMo? (I don't know much about software signing ect)
