SUMo : Keep your software up to date

We are back.... all our DNS records were in a total mess.

SUMO is a very good program, but why when I install using the Lite version do I get those 3 icons on my desktop? Shouldn't the lite version be crap free? Getting tired of deleting them everytime, if I decide to use something else this will be the reason.Other than that, no complaints.

These are KC Softwares products shortcuts, but NOT installed on your system.
These are NOT put on desktop when you use automatic self update of SUMo PRO (and of course the portable version).

 

I use Sumo strictly for info only and where possible use the vendors link to obtain the download if I want it. I also have some download sites that I stay away from.

And with SUMo Lite (and probably the same for the Regular version, I suppose) with Setup, you can uncheck the boxes for the desktop shortcuts. That way you won't be bothered by those desktop shortcuts.

 

That's exactly why i decided NOT to implement 3rd party product downlaod & installation in SUMo (unlike most competitors). So that YOU keep full control on what's deployed on your system.

Hi Kyle, The lite version of the latest release is not yet available, is it? What I'm currently getting is still version 4.1.6.

I've never seen a button for Setup, where is it?

 

No, there is no "Setup" button.
I meant the "Setup Wizard".
The "Setup Wizard" is the dialog that you get with installation.
After proceeding with clicking "Next", and accepting the License Agreement and clicking "Next", you get to the part of the Setup where you can select or deselect tasks. One of the items you can deselect is "Desktop Icon".
If you uncheck the box for "Desktop Icon", you won't get the desktop shortcuts.

SUMo does not seem to be detecting the correct version of logitech options for my mouse.

 

Is SUMo looking at the right file ?
