SUMo is detecting an update whereas I already have the update version.



Also it would be better if DUMo was integrated into SUMo. It could be called sDUMo, short for software and Driver updates monitor! Having two separate programs for software and drivers update is a not as convenient as having a single program which updates both.

Each product will most likely have its own life cycle, even if i have to admit that some updates (feature requests, bugs to fix) will affect both.

Regarding the false positive, would you please send me (Zip file to contact [@] kcsoftwares.com) the 2 files that SUMo is analysing ? One of them seems OK, the other is wrong.

I don't quite understand. Would you kindly point which files you are talking about?

 

Look which exe file SUMo is analysing by leaving your mouse cursor on each item. Then zip these files and send them over to me for analysis.

Windows XP, SUMo 3.10.7.234
SUMo reports that Intuit's Turbotax 2012 needs update to 2013.
I actually have both 2012 and 2013 installed at this point.
Both versions are in \ProgramFiles\Turbotax directory.
No big deal, but I thought I should report this.

If similar programs exists on a computer, it might be a problem for people who, for example have two versions of Opera installed - both the good and the chrome-like version.

Just in case this is important. There may be more than one scenario here (as I look over some old images)
1. example - Opera. Each version would be a separate entry in Program Files so no issue likely to exist on a big scale.
2. example - Turbotax.
2a. may have several versions under ProgramFiles\TurboTax\Basic2010 and Basic2011 and Basic2012 and Basic2013 - all under ...\Turbotax
2b. may have turbotax variants such as ProgramFiles\TurboTax\Basic2010 and Home & Business 2011 and Deluxe2012 and Premier2013 - all under ...\Turbotax
so the subdirectories might have different names.
My thinking is that the only thing that counts, if at all, in terms of updates is the year and not a variant.

The SUMo server error issue seems to be back.
Sometimes SUMo works just fine, but other moments a SUMo check results in "Server Error. Please retry later."

Earlier, you fixed the server issue by applying an alternate server, and there have been some fixes for communication problems with the servers.
But now, the issue is back, for some reason.

I hope you can fix this server issue.

By the way, odd that SUMo scans for Adobe AIR, Adobe Shockwave, and for Java, while no such applications are on the specific system.
Is that normal?
