    Good Day
I noticed some ununsual internet activity coming from my PC (WinXP32 - SP/3 and all updates). Using Eset's interface I checked "Network Connections) and noted the only activity was "Ekrn.exe localhost:30606 Listening TCP 408.7 MB's Sent 436.2 MB's Received. Ekrn.exe shows as both created and modified Mar.25/10. Version 4.2.40.0

    Eset v4.2.40.0

After a reboot the connection resumes and 10 mins later shows aprox 7 times more activity than any other connection at idle.

    Any insight would be appreciated.

This should always been the case. In Windows XP ESET acts like a local proxy where all traffic is routed through. So all that traffic comes from other applications.

SOLVED: The usage did not seem at all normal to me so I uninstalled Eset and reinstalled with the most current version. Ekrn.exe shows ZERO activity now. As I believed it should.

    Thanks anyways ladies and gentlemen.
