I'm looking for a sharing or stream application which allow to play music and videos stored on a remote PC.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here's some ideas (might want to read the whole linked thread & certainly follow any links there):

I currently use VLC on my PC & VLC Direct Streaming Pro Free on my Android for video, although I presume it would also work for audio only.

If you search the Play store, there's tons of apps that'll stream audio & even cover art from VLC, but video seems to be trickier. It can be a bit of a pain to get VLC & the Android app working together properly, but I like it as a very good lightweight option. I currently have VLC starting up on the PC from a shortcut with the target listed as follows:
    "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --rtsp-timeout=99999 --sout-avcodec-strict=-2 --qt-start-minimized
If you use some sort of "fix & setup VLC settings for me" executable (provided by the app developer), you'll probably want to look at VLC's own hosts file to make sure that "the world" is not enabled. (That basically allows anyone to access your VLC server, although it is password protected. VLC's host file should be in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\http).
It took a lot of reading and trial & error to figure all this out, and I really don't remember more than what I've posted, but it should be enough for success. :)

Oh, forgot to add that my Android device is rooted with AdAway installed. So, I can't say if any of the mentioned or linked apps have annoying ads since I never see any. ;)
