Strange File ~

I recently noticed a new Icon that mysteriously showed up on my desktop. It's name only had this "~" symbol. There wasn't any other information about it that I could find. I found another program called FileAlyzer which let me view the files contents. Down the right hand column, I found all my address books contacts and email addresses. I had Norton check it, I had the online virus checker "Housecall" check it and even submitted it to Microsoft for analysis but all reports came back clean. I have deleted the file numerous times but, out of the blue, it keeps coming back on my desktop and documents folder. The file is the same size and has the same info as the others before it. If anyone has experienced this problem or something similar, I would so appreciate any advice or suggestions.
