    Hello all:

I wanted to report that I've been having an issue with StarBurn 10 (CD burning software) and NOD32 not playing well together. I'm running Vista 32-bit.

Basically the gist of it is, NOD32 slows down Starburn's ability to scan the system for a DVD/CD drive. What normally is a 1-2 second process takes over 2 minutes, and the ekrn.exe process appears to be at 50% cpu usage in task manager when this occurs.

Anyway, I fixed this by adding the StarBurn folder to the real-time filesystem exclusions list. Nevertheless, I thought it might be worth reporting -- perhaps in the future StarBurn might be considered a trusted app by default.

First of all consider upgrading to v3.0.669

    Thanks for your reply.

Hmmm, after looking at the release notes on the downloads page, I seem to have a pretty old version, don't I. I guess I was assuming that the automatic virus signature database updater would also keep the nod32 engine up-to-date. Doesn't it? (I could just have some setting turned off without realizing it...)

I'll have to take a look at that when I get home today.

Modules within the product are updated automatically, but full application version updates need to be installed manually.

Roger that. I'll try updating it when I get a chance.

I updated to 3.0.669; it still has the same problem.
