It is me Arne again, the one with spywareblaster that deletes its own database.

Today I installed spywareblaster on my son's machine as well. Different OS (XP Home), different AV (AVG), different firewall (ZA). And spwareblaster deleted it's own database on this machine as well. The only thing they have in common is Proxomitron and Danish language.

Downloading the databases and putting them in there manually works fine.

If I find registery entries of the CLSIDs of the one you protect against
in SpywareBlaster, is this normal?

Perfectly normal if they're under an "ActiveX Compatibility" key (or something similar).

A good double-check, if you feel like it, would be to simply scan your system with Spybot S & D or Ad-Aware.
