split images afterwards

I made one image in the past on my harddisk (12Gb). Is it possible to split this image so that i can burn it on a dvd? (the problem is that i made the image of my harddisk and put it on the same partition as the one i want to backup, now it is inpossible to put the image back)

You can't split the image after it has been created. An image needs to be split during creation by selecting the "Fixed size" option in the Image Archive Splitting window. If you intend burning as a DVD-ROM (ISO) compilation then manually enter 2000 MB as the fixed size. If you are tempted to create the image direct to DVD+/-RW as per the Acronis Online FAQ then TI will split it into 2 gig chunks automatically.
