I do this all the time with XP, but never tried with Vista. I set up a Vista Ultimate image in VMWare and installed all my software and updates. Then I imaged it with SP 3.3 and dumped it back on to a laptop using HIR. Laptop booted OK (seemed a bit slow) tired to load a few drivers, then froze. Re-booted in safe mode and it just locked up loading. Has anyone successfully done this?

Isn't that for converting real machines to VMs?

    It converts both ways.

And does it deal with HIR as SP does?
