The update from ver 7.1 to 7.3 was quick and silent, and this on a laptop with 1gig of RAM. Love Sophos.

its an optional componant that is unticked as default.
its right at the end of the installation.
with defaults only the AV is installed.

FYI, the AntiVirus version in Endpoint Security and Control 8.0 is 7.3.0, the Firewall is 1.5.3 and the Enterprise Console is 3.1. I think they didn't align the version numbers to 8.0. 8.0 simply means a new version of Endpoint Security and Control as a whole. AFAIK, AntiVirus 7.5.0 will be released in June 08.

I haven't tried it yet but you should be able to select what modules to install by choosing the custom installation, according to Lodore above.
    What package you installed?

i surgest you login to the sophos website with your username and password and download the lastest installer which installs the firewall as an optional componant during the install.

If you update through auto-update from 7.1.1, you will get only the updated AV 7.3.0

If you install from scratch, you will have a new installer with an option to install the firewall.
