so is it official essentials will go to complete?

i have 3 boxed essentials unused at this time. i was planning on testing one out but i decide to wait a bit still. is it confirmed essentials will go to complete? and if so what do i have to do if anything? i have 3 unused sealed boxes with the essentials keys inside. do i simply enter the essentials key then it will give me a new key like the older completes do or how does it work? i just want to know if i have to do anything like contact anyone etc..or is it automatic once the key is entered.

also what happens with the backup storage. some at the webroot forum said they got 25gb i saw someone say they got the 30gb like with complete and someone else said they remained at 6gb like essentials? so can someone like joe tell me what will happen with the amount of backup storage? i may give these to someone i know and want to know what to tell them to expect overall.

According to this, it will change to complete when you renew it, not when you activate it.

 

i saw that but then many people said it was automatic that they got switched over all by itself??

Update: We will be upgrading Essentials customers to Complete without the requirement of a renewal. This will happen on the back end in the weeks to come and will not require action from the user.

Essentials customers will be migrated to Complete automatically, but this process hasn't started yet. If you're an Essentials customer, you don't need to do anything. It will happen automatically. There is no need to renew early if your subscription isn't expiring soon already (though you can if you wish). This migration will take place at some time after the new Backup & Sync solution is released. Once you see the new version of Backup & Sync show up in the program, you can expect that your Essentials license will convert into a Complete license at some point thereafter. When this happens, it will not happen for everyone at once, so do not be alarmed if your friend's Essentials license updates to Complete and yours hasn't updated yet. It will happen, but it's hard to predict how long the migration itself will take for the entire Essentials customer database.

someone i know would like these if they are to be complete's once activated. and ill be happy to give them to this person but i dont want to waste the keys if they are essentials now and will not just become complete's and not what they are looking for i will not let them activate the keys and waste them which is why im trying to be sure before hand.

i was hoping for someone who has done it to verify for me. there is a few here who have had the essentials update to complete they said and was hoping they would chime in from experience. bu yeah i can ask there also.

 

I think but not sure that was for users that already had a license in use but not sure about new activation's so it would be best to bring that up at the Webroot Community for clarification.

having issues logging in there. i thought i remembered my password but when i try to reset it something is not working. still trying to reset it. really wanted to find out by tonight since i was going to install them tomm if these will switch to complete on their own for him.

They converted me and called it a free upgrade.

I would activate and then write into support inbox asking for it. I don't have much faith it will happen automatically.

Also, one trick is to give support all your licenses and ask them to be activated and merged into one thwn upgraded so you only need to do it once.
