    Hi,
I'm trying to install the trial version of TI8 server for linux on my gentoo box. Everything worked fine up to the point where I should modprobe the snapapi26 module. I get an "incorrect module format" error message.

the only related lines in dmesg output is

    snapapi26: version magic '2.6.14-gentoo-r2 SMP preempt 586 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4' should be '2.6.14-gentoo-r2 SMP preempt 586 4KSTACKS gcc-3.3'

    the same happens with snumbd26

    snumbd26: version magic '2.6.14-gentoo-r2 SMP preempt 586 4KSTACKS gcc-3.4' should be '2.6.14-gentoo-r2 SMP preempt 586 4KSTACKS gcc-3.3'

    I'm using gcc 3.4.4

what can I do to have this module work , possibly without reinstalling gcc 3.3.x ?

    thanks

    giuliano

ps: at this time I can't swap to FC/MDK/RHEL :(

    Solved!

    i manually edited the snapapi26.ko and snumbd.ko files under /lib/modules/<kernelversion>/kernel/drivers/block and replacer "gcc-3.4" with "gcc-3.3" :)
