    Hi
    i have skype 4.1.0.179 , i guess it's the lasted version

i got a issue , the other users can add me without my permission

i remember in the old version v3 , a user to add to his contact list , send on a request , that i could accept or deny

in my skype 4.1.0.179 , when a new user add me , i don't get a request (so i can't accept od deny)

    what's wrong?
    how can i fix it?

    thanks
    have a great day

mantra, yes, version 4.1.0.179 is the latest stable Skype version.

Go to Tools > Options > Privacy and choose the people in my Contact list only for Calls, Video and IM, if so desired.

Then, go to Notifications and choose from the options found there. Visit the other sections to make sure what you want is selected.

mantra, did you visit Notifications and checked requests my contact details? That's the only way to display a Notification near your clock.

Make sure you visit every other section and that people in my Contact list only is checked!

mantra, you do understand that only the people in your Contact list will be allowed to contact you and when they do, only then you will see a prompt? At that point, you will have the chance to receive the call, video, IM or not.

If you don't want people to know when you are online, you need to un-check allow my online status to be shown on the web.

when someone wants to add you ,asks the authorization and you have tha choice to accept or not

well , today a russian girl added me , and i could only block it
but not pop up , about my authorization

my settings were like the screenshots

    thanks for the support

mantra, I'm at a loss to explain how could someone else add you, if you had people in my Contact list only checked in every Option section.

You should have seen an Invitation prompt (similar to an authorization) from that person and only when you agree to share details, would that person be in your Contacts list and/or you on their list.

FYI. You can go to Privacy > Blocked Contacts and block anyone that way as well. Since I'm out of ideas, short of a reinstall, I'll step aside for another member to help you.

Mus'be a "labor of love" huh Mantra o_O complicating Windows? I think JR's addressed it as best possible. The trouble you're describing I'll assume relates to Skype's latest so called feature set. Here, check this user submitted reply from Skype - Contacts Added without Permission, not to mention the rest of the thread itself.

    @mantra

I know people who have had the same annoying issues. All their options are to to as invisable/private etc as possible. The first time they used it, within a day they got several messages from complete strangers. When i checked up on them it turned out they were porn site invites/links :isay: And rip off ones at that

Couldn't work out how this happens either, now i know thanks to GlobalForce Still happens on and off :argh:
