Skype can start normally, but it crashes my laptop completely as soon as I click the "phone call" button. I need to push Power button to restart.

I tried to disable outpost firewall free before I click the death button and it worked. But if I remember well, skype crashes my laptop when my firewall was PCt firewall as well. After Googled "skype crashes" I see tons of victims. :(

    Hi lodore,

Skype version is the latest 4.00226. Windows Vista Premium 32bit. I know problems like this are hard to solve as it depends on each unique system. Maybe I'll just turn off outpost and use vista firewall temporarily when I want to use skype.:doubt:

Btw,my system has two system errors for a long time. They appear in event logs whenever I start my computer. They are:
    1. Crash dump initialization failed!

    System

    - Provider

    [ Name] volmgr

    - EventID 46

    2.WMI

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

    SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99

I've been ignoring the two errors for sometime since I found no solutions except many victims after searches in google.

dunno if my skype crashes relate to the above errors.

    Hi Globalforce,

The first link solved my first error. Thanks!

The solution to the second one is only to make the error log disappere so I'll just ignore it as it is said that there's no bad effect to my system. :doubt:

The solution? Then you've missed the key clues, the ones that involve further investigation on your part - voltage adjustment.

I'm not gonna touch BIOS voltage settings in case that my computer blows :argh: (I don't see it either  ). Even microsoft said that I can safely ingore this error in your link provided.
My computer doesn't freeze randomly. It only freezes to death when I touch the Skype phone call button with some 3rd party firewalls on,recently.

Since it's been a day or so I'll ask what you've tried on your own? When was the last time you made it over to Outpost?

    Hi Globalforce,

My skype issue is magically gone. o_O I just managed to disable outpost's feedback.exe today, but my intention wasn't to solve the skype issue. Whatever! Thanks again,Global Force! :D
