    Hi Lucas,

Good stuff, I've enjoyed the link. Thanks!

Not quite as 'green' are 3 LA County facilities, a hospital, prison, & civic center co-gen plant. All three facilities burn natural gas to run a jet engine. One end of the jet is coupled to a reduction gear, that spins a generator. All three facilities sell excess electricity to the utility company. The other end of the jet (hot end) we capture the heat via waste heat boiler, & run air conditioning, heating, steam, & domestic hot water.

Note the un-green part of 'solar' always not talked about is the energy required (reflected in the price of equip.) to produce, or end product. Normally this is quite substantive & partially underwritten by govt.. Said another way it takes along time for solar to produce as much energy, as it cost energy wise to manufacture it.

    Take Care
    Rico
