Does anyone know which folder I need to exclude from SD so that I can still retain bookmarks while I am browsing. I am using Windows XP.

    Thanks

I'm using FF5 on XP...I've always excluded this for preserving bookmarks and extensions with no problems losing any additions added when in shadow mode...

    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla

Its a hidden folder so you have to use 'unhide' in your folder options.

Don't exclude the entire folder. Some users have experienced problems with their browser losing all custom settings, and also having to reinstall all their extensions. I was one of those users. Only exclude the places.sqlite file.
Here is the path on my machine C:\Documents and Settings\Ares\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ffvdtflt.default Click the shadow defender exclusion tab, and choose add file. Then add the places.sqlite file.

If you deleted the folder then you would be having major problems out of Firefox now. If that's the case then reinstall FF, and get back with us for more assistance.

I uninstall firefox browser and bookmarks setting. And re-install a more recent version. But the folder did not re-appear.

Seems that i have to live without the folder. Lost forever.

I am now using sandboxie when i go on the web. Seems to be the only solution.

    Thanks again

    Update:

Re-install the latest firefox and found the folder. So now I am able to exclude place.squire.

Thank you all for the AWESOME info and help.

    Will see what happens now.
