Setup Boot Manager Grayed Out after Win 8.1 Install. I installed Partition Manager 14 Home Win XP 32bit verson under Win XP 32bit. I did "New OS Install" then Setup Boot Manager. I installed Win 8.1 on the new partition. Installed 64 bit Partition Manager 14 Home under Win 8.1 and the "Setup Boot Manager" menu item is grayed out.
The Boot Manager is not available in the "14" programs. This has been reported in this forum in the past.
Slight mixup I think. Partition Manager has it. It was removed from HDM perhaps to sell more PMs? I found the thread about it being greyed out in HDM 14, since 12 I believe it said. But I've bought Partition manager 2009 and 14 in addition to HDM so I'd have all the capabilities. Note I reported using the 32bit version under WinXP. That was minutes before installing Win 8.1 and the 64 bit version which has boot manager grayed out. Perhaps it's a 32bit v.s. 64bit version problem?
I can´t say, have used 64-bit only. The reason can also be possible compatibility problems with UEFI computers.
Just curious does yours say this at the top? Welcome to <_ProductName_> <_ProductEdition_> Instead of product name & version? I just upgraded to HDM 14 on windows 8 pro, worked fine with HDM 11 & 12 in win 8. I also get a "Language Not Found" error on the bottom when it starts. I thought that's why some of the menus were not working? (greyed out)
