    hi there,

ive got the following problem and im looking for a answer here since all my efforts brought nothing so far.

weve got a Multicast / UPNP Device ( Media Receiver ) which is working over IPTV. the problem we have now is, that the upnp port at this device is opened
which is a huge security issue.

on the other hand, im not sure if there have to be made any rules concerning the security for a multicast device itself. ( tips for securing multicast, if necessary, are welcome )

however, i came to the conclusion that i have to close the upnp port at the router ( for the concerned device ). no way around that...

im not sure if AVM and FRITZ BOX rings any bell outside of germany but thats our Router. to be exact the model is a :

    - Fritz Box 7360

i was about to post that into the corresponding forum at their website. tho, im not able to right now.

so does anyone know how to achieve that with that kind of router ?
i couldnt find anything so far but ill look into it the next days...
would be cool if someone would come up with a solution tho.

    thanks in advance.

    bump

just wanna post info on this. figured the upnp stuff out myself.

now i have a question about the multicast tho.
just assume i have to block the addresses :

    - 224.0.0.22

    - 224.0.0.252

    - 224.0.0.1

do i have to block them in and outbound or just in or just out ?
