Can you please interpret this for me and tell me what I should do? I've been having a problem with a Browser HiJack, where my search page and homepage and all that good stuff is automatically set and reset over and over to http://www.searchmeup.com/search.php?aid=1057, and my LAN Settings set to a Proxy rather than auto-detect...

    Hi Eckhart03,

After removing the files you have to uncheck the proxy to get your internet connection back.

Make sure you know where to do that before you start. In IE > Internet-options > Connections > LAN settings > Uncheck the proxy server.[/b]

But first before you start, move hijackthis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder in the folder it's in.
These will now end up on your desktop.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    Then reboot and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\wininet32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\runwin32.exe

Then uncheck the proxy as described above.
