Update. Not bothering with detailing security setups anymore, this is the best hint you'll get.

Mine are very bland, but you asked for it... I'm very minimalist (anal). And this is the machine I have hooked up to an LCD TV to watch/play media, away from my router. My main box hardwired to the router would only have 3 things in the taskbar, missing the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon, and with a wired network logo instead of wireless.

I change it regularly, based on the mood, but the anime theme always prevails. :isay:

I see that clean start screens are the next fad after clean desktop. And that is not an anime, but rather a visual novel! (according to my Google-fu skills)

Well indeed, but I have just realized, that I have spent about 30 min a day to find a new wallpaper, what a waste of time.
So I have chosen something more permanent based on my favorite movie, Wreck-It Ralph, Ralph kind of reminds me of me.
In his own words: "I am bad and that is good, I will never be good and that's not bad, there's no one I'd rather be than me."

I download a lot of wallpaper, mainly from Minitokoyo, based on a number of favourites for my resolution or higher with same aspect ratio. I check a few minutes weekly, except on some days where I double-check all time, yearly, etc.

Let's show off performance. Here's a video of my box booting from cold-bios Windows8.1x shutdown to usable desktop.

    Can you dig it?

When exploring some old files I came across a screenshot of my old desktop. XP with Royale Noir theme or whatever its name was:

I guess I've never been a fan of massive alteration anyway. Firefox was not even really all that customised. =V

That is a boot from hibernation and not a complete shutdown?

This here too can tend to represent your performance... when my box is in idle. No hanging connections, things poking holes through my FW (like svchost or services.exe for example like on newer MS OS's). Or real-time AV's Web Shield/Guard listening in. It's all about limiting that attack surface and rendering these would-be vulnerabilities moot.

Performance can be measured in many ways. For me, performance is how much work you get out of a PC in relation to the RAM and processing power it consumes. This screenshot from my unit shows Process Explorer, Memload, and a partial of the firewall status screen to show traffic volume. Most of it wouldn't fit on the screen. The PC is using less than half a gigabyte of RAM and a small percentage of the processor capacity most of the time. The only time it uses the swap file is when Tor traffic is heavy and I'm running XP on VPC at the same time.

The forum software doesn't seem to like this image. It didn't look like that here.
