I have just discovered that if SafeOnline's configuration level for HTTP is set to higher than "low", I can't watch some *.wmv videos. For instance here http://www.hellascams.gr/Safety_at_Sea/ Once HTTP configuration is on "low" or lower I can watch them. It occurs in Opera 10.51 and IE8. BTW, having RC .127.
This could potentially be caused if we're blocking one of the video components from sending/reading data - can you send a scan log to report@prevxresearch.com? We should be able to fix it from there Thanks!
I just tried on max and restarted Opera 10.51 and I can play the video without problems! Windows 7 32bit! TH
Hello Joe, a scan log sent. Hello TH, I think there is a possibility you use another codec. I use wmp plugin in Opera. I am not so surprised that it plays under w7. Vista is very tough on codecs. Anyhow, this problem is down to SafeOnline definitely, regardless codecs because when SO is disbled or HTTP is set to low videos play.
Could be as I have Roxio Creator Pro 2010 with CinePlayer! But .wmv files is for Windows Media Player Joe will find out and fix you up! TH
Glad to hear sorry no offence ... I meant this problem is not only on my end. Will wait for Joe. May I suggest you send your a scan log too. Prevx will have more information to resolve it.
If you can please try rescanning and reboot your PC, it should now allow you to play videos properly Let me know your results!
Rescanned and rebooted even two times but to no avail. For me nothing has changed. I can play these videos only with having lowered HTTP configuration to LOW. Should I send a log again and if so should I try the videos before taking scan? EDIT: The same problem occurred when trying to play internet radio from http://www.abradio.cz/radio/119/radio-city/ in MP3 format. Once SO is set to LOW it plays. However I can play WMA format with SO set on HIGH. EDIT 2: I tried to narrow down the problem and I have found that it might be between SO and Windows Media Player plugin because if I associate *. wma, *.wmv, *.mp3 etc. in Opera with VLC plugin, they play regardless what HTTP configuration is set on. It seems that SO somehow and somewhere blocks the plugin.
If you could send over another scan log now, it should include the newest files from the video player Thanks for the information!
