Still no words on how gold plan members can get their free v10 upgrade. Asked on the forums, asked on Facebook, they replied but did not answer.

It has been a long time since I updated from one version to the next but I recall simply downloading the new version, installing it and then inputing my existing key.

I would suggest that if this does not work simply contact Horizon via live chat and ask for an updated key. Questions about your identification will be asked so they can verify you qualify for the gold members upgrade and a key will be provided.

    Thats my best guess anyway.

That was already tested and reported on their forums. Doesn't work.

    Dear MarcP,

You have only GOLD Support, therefore you have to hold your breath.

    Best regards,

Folks, there appears to be a LOT of issues with this release... I would not be in a big hurry to upgrade, let the dust settle a bit and keep your ears open in the Horizon Data Sys RBrx (and Wilders) forum.

Wiser words have never been spoken. New releases are notorious for having too many bugs.

I don't think v10 is released yet. It is a second pre-release. What MarcP is worried that as a GOLD member, he is entitled to free upgrade to v10 when it is released. The first pre-release was in mid-January and the real v10 was supposed to be released on 25 January, 2013. Due to lots of bugs, it is postponed, and thus a second pre-release.

His GOLD membership is about to expire, so he wants to know what his status going to be when the v10 is released for free upgrade. And, I quote MarcP:

As a GOLD member, he is entitled to get support and answer within 24 hours.

    Best regards,

No, it's out. They even announced it on the Facebook page. My gold status has been renewed, by the way. Apparently, those who used the Facebook rebate code don't auto-renew their gold status.

Yeah, it's out, it's buggy, and doesn't have the long-overdue (promised) disk-imaging integration! :thumbd:

Yup agreed, people waited with bated breath for over a year. But what are big and great changes from v9. Mostly marketing hype.

UEFI and GPT disk support. More on GPT support to come with v10.1 (i.e support for over 2TB partitions).

That could have been implemented in v9, just like the support for SSDs. It doesn't require a major upgrade and for people to pay money for major upgrade, especially those who don't have a yearly GOLD Support.

I doubt they're the only company doing this, though. A lot of companies use the excuse of a new operating system or new technologies to push a brand new version of their softwares.

From Rollback Rx forum, from the horse's mouth:

Not even ready for GPT partition and UEFI BIOS.

You're quoting a post from October 2012... Well before any betas were released. They were explaining why it was delayed then. Not sure what you intend to communicate here.

Well how many people who have v9, have GPT partition and UEFI BIOS. However, as far Windows 8 is concerned, v9 works with it provided the computer has no GPT and has MBR.

The biggest thingy promised with v10 about two years ago, is covered by Cruise above. As Cruise said the promised didn't materialize, only bugs and nothing more.

I have a UEFI BIOS so it works out well for me (no GPT, though). Still not sure why an old post from 3 months ago relates to last Friday's release. The imaging integration was never promised. What was promised is Drive Cloner supporting snapshots and apparently that is still on the table, but I don't care much about that one. I use Macrium Reflect.

I am not sure if you still have MBR support or not.

    However, you mentioned:

However, more than two years ago, the biggest thingy promised for v10 was disk-imaging integration!. Now, it is disguised into GPT partition and UEFI BIOS. And, still there is no GPT support. As you said above, it is promised in v10.1, how long, nobody knows.

    Best regards,

What do you mean Drive Cloner supporting snapshots?

    I am confused now.

I have MBR. I didn't say I have GPT. You asked for some of the new features and I answered. That's all.

No, they promised Drive Cloner to support RBX's snapshots.

Again no. GPT for partitions larger than 2TB will come in v10.1.

All imaging programs allow for Rollback Rx snapshots to be included in images, including Drive Cloner Rx.

I am still confused, and the link is no help. Can you please explain me?

    Best regards,
