Haven't given this button much thought. What happens when protection
or session lock is on and I exit. I assume that protection will still be on for
both, till reboot in the case of session lock having been enabled.
Does clicking exit stop a Returnil service ?
Lastly, besides upgrading, uninstalling or changing caches, when would one
    use the 'Exit' button ?

PS. This is a great software due to it's logical simplicity. :thumb:

Same questions here, but haven't lost my sleep...I simply don't use that button.
However sometimes I wish that the exit button would exit the GUI instead...

Protection is still there if you exit the tray icon which can also be configured not to show through the gui - Preferences - Others tab.

When clicking 'Exit' dialogue box asks: 'Are you sure you want to exit the
    Returnil Virtual System Premium Edition'.
So I wonder whether this is just to hide/exit the tray icon or whether
something other than the Returnil.exe process is terminated assuming
    protection remains on.

The Returnil process in taskmanager seems related to the tray icon here.

If I stop the process in taskmanager I have to move the mouse cursor to the tray icon then it disappears.

The warning when exiting the tray icon could be a bit more specific in stating that only the icon is exiting and not protection or just show "Hide icon".

    From the manual:

    You can try by yourself:
    - select it
    - create a new file in C:
    - reboot
    - the new file is disappeared

It's because Returnil's drivers are always running in background :)

Thanks once again wrongway67. :) Got it. I should have guessed
    - Sysinternals .. have several small and useful applications from
MR (Now must not forget to save the downloaded zip with Returnil before
shutting down, already recovered from SBIE) :D :D
