I have done a total backup of a disc which has linux on it. 149Gb split roughly 50/50 split between partitions.

Did a differential backup of the linux root partition which is the first one on the disc - Seemed to work ok - Have a folder within the normal backup of the diff backup.

How do I restore the diff backup?

Restored the whole disc and the diff backup wasn't applied...

To reastore from Diff, you need to select appopriate diff archive in Restore wizard.
Then base full backup will be used automatically.

Please try to select entire diff folder. If it will not show archive info , it means that backup is corrupted.

Did you use a part of full HDD backup to create diff for Linux partition only? This could be the reason.
Try to create separate backup for Linux partition and diff for it.

Well its a whole disc with two partitions on it thats backed up - I have this feeling that I can't diff a whole disc with 2 partitions on it...

My back up and diff has two files along with the PBF file which I presume are diffs to each partition...

I've just tried to create diff for full HDD backup with Linux. It works fine and available for restore.

    Full HDD backup

    Diff restore
    RestoreLinux2.jpg

Could you please try to re-create backup? What options did you use?
Did you perform backup\restore from Recovery CD or from Windows?

just used the defaults... Selected the whole disc rather than one of the partitions then clicked next then applied the backup.

Just trying it again now... Will let you know when I restore it...

Still not working - getting the same errors- Am wondering if diffs are not supported when a disc has more than one partition on it.

Having just done a new diff on my Linux partition which I re-installed to be one whole partition on the disc I think I have solved my problem!

The app defaults to the same folder as the backup for where it wants to save the diff - I saved the diff in the same folder as all the backups rather than the folder that I was basing the backup off.

For example the whole backup was here:
    x:\paragon\Linux

and I saved the diff here:
    x:\paragon

It seems to work now anyway!
