I purchased Ewido about a year ago but it seems that it has gone downhill since the buyout. My subscription is about to expire. Does anyone have any suggestions for something better?

By the way I did not upgrade to version 4.0. I tried to but when I went to the website, there was some sort of problem.

    Any opinions welcome.

I don't know that I'd agree that Ewido has gone downhill.
As far as Grisoft's buyout,I think it's too soon to guage what effect that will have on AVG Antispyware vs. the old Ewido.

    Something better...
I think that CounterSpy may be a good alternative choice once the new version is out of beta.
SpySweeper gets some good feedback, but the last time I ran SS it was very heavy on resource usage.
Zero Spyware is another choice, but it slows startup.Nice program otherwise.

The bottom line is that it's a choice you have to make yourself.I suggest that you trial some programs one at a time and see which program runs best on your system.See what you like the best.

Don't overlook a-squared V 2.0. I am not sure whether it is as good or better than Ewido on trojans, but I think it is better as anti-spyware.
I am using the free version as a scanner.

I also have a lifetime license for Ewido.

Considering that I have KAV6 as my AV, that it is better for trojans than either, I would go for a-squared at this point in time.

As an anti-spyware application, I would go for SuperAntiSpyware or Counterspy V2.

Keep in mind that CounterSpy version 2.0 is currently in beta.
The older version will run heavier.
