Starting my WinXP-PC I see the following message:

    Acronis Loader started...
    Press ESC for menu...
    Press F6 to skip menu...

Neither ESC nor F6 does anything, the PC hangs.
I tried the DD10-Recovery CD "OS-Selector-Setup", it posted:

    "Working please wait...
    Analyzing partition..."

    but nothing happens.

By using fixmbr I can start WinXP but only once! Next start it is the same as before.

Apparently Acronis rewrites always the boot-sector.
What can be done to stop that?

    >From the command prompt please type:

    >FIXMBR C:
    >FIXBOOT C:
    >BOOTCFG /rebuild

    >After that, please reboot your computer.

I've done that and the computer booted as it should do,
    but only ONCE!
The next time Acronis' boot loader is back again.

It seems that Acronis rewrites the master boot record,
so one has to fix the MBR each time before booting.
I believe there must be a method to remove the Acronis loader for ever.

    Do it again.
When you are in Windows, uninstall OS Selector: consult section 1.5 of the manual (p 11).

I went through the deactivation process. I was told that there is only one
bootable system WinXP (correct). After the deactivation that system will
be booted (welcome). A new start is necessary (OK):

    Result:
    "Acronis loader started...
    Press ESC for menu...
    Press F6 to skip menu..."
    deadlock

    Sorry, same as before.

I think it's time for an answer from Acronis support!

    So go again to https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=777981&postcount=2
and follow the instructions after the "If this does not help then please create Acronis Report in the way described below:" line.

You paid for that support, so better contact them directly with their report utility.

Of course I asked them at first, their answer didn't help, so I asked them
a second time. I'm still waiting for an answer.
Visiting this forum was the third step.

BTW this is the "Official Acronis Support Forum" isn't it?

Yes, but usually in such a situation the official acronis support will eventually ask you to fill their "acronis report"...

OK, I've made the Acronis Report Bootdisk and booted:

    "Starting Acronis Loader...
    Processing please wait..."

    That's all, nothing happens.

Until Acronis eventually finds a solution to remove the OS-Selector
I'll use a bootdisk (ntldr, ntdetect, boot.ini) to start WinXP.
