Just wanted to let others know of the good news Reboot Restore Rx 2.0 has officially been released with full Windows 8 & 8.1 support as well as GPT partition and UEFI Bios support.

Reboot Restore Rx is now officially your alternative to Windows SteadyState software now with the new version 2.0, Only Administrators will have Access to the Reboot Restore Rx Console. Version 1 would let anyone disable or enable protection and now that has been replaced with Computers administrator being the only one to have Access to Reboot Restore Rx console.

Reboot Restore Rx is a freeware that simplifies the security and management of multi-user computing environments by automatically restoring workstations back to a predefined configuration with a simple reboot.

Check our Reboot Restore Rx Here: http://www.horizondatasys.com/en/products_and_solutions.aspx?ProductId=18

  2. Any news on whether/how it supports SSD's (no/yes, without/with alignment)?

Hi KriteshHDS, I have two questions about RR Rx.

    1. Does it make any entries/modifications to the MBR or PBR?
    2. Is it always enabled at startup? ...or can the Admin disable it for system updates and the like?

Hi Wendi sorry I missed that, Yes Reboot Restore Rx does the MBR to protect it from malicious software, Reboot Restore Rx along with our leading paid versions of Drive Vaccine and Rollback Rx all create a Mini OS when installed which boots up prior to windows on startup, that is where the magic is.

If you have any more questions of any of Horizon Datasys products you should post it on the community forum here and they will be able to provide you more detailed information : http://community.horizondatasys.com/
