I use Outpost as my firewall.

Does Outpost block rootkits or is there any plans that anyone knows of that Outpost may in the future?

    Thank you.

I use OP as well. OP, as of the current version, will not stop the installation of a rootkit. However, in my limited tests, I have seen OP block access to rootkit-cloaked servers. The logs would show a blocked inbound packet to a closed port. The open server ports, on the other hand, did not show up in OP's Open Ports display. I would not depend on OP for rootkit protection.
