I really don't understand much about firewall configurations. I've just realized there's this feature in L'n'S / Options / Advanced Options / Protocols / Protocols Configurations : Should the 'protocol filtering activation' be disabled or enabled? And Why?

Any explanations would be appreciated thanks.

    Hi Osaban,

For a better protection, in case a malware software succeed to install and use a non standard protocol, you should enable that.

Using a non standard protocol can be a way to bypass firewalls.

By default Look 'n' Stop allows TCPIP and NETBT standard protocols.
After the option is enabled, any new protocol will be added to the list and automatically blocked. You can allow it after if needed.

Sometimes WANARP.SYS is added. This one needs to be allowed, because it is a standard one.

    Regards,

    Frederic
