Promiscuous mode NIC card

    I have a sniffer program that I would like to try on my network, the instructions say to use a NIC card in Promiscuous mode so that it can see all packets as well as bad packets. Can anyone suggest a NIC card that I could use in my laptop?

    Isn't every current ethernet NIC able to run in promiscuous mode? It only requires you to have root/admin access to the network.
