I am using True Image Workstation Echo build 8163 with the corresponding Universal Restore build.

I created an image of a workstation and attempted to restore it to a Hyper-V VM using rescue media built with Universal Restore. When I boot the media, I get no options for Universal Restore, and the restored image will not boot.

Also, I used the True Image product to convert the .tib file to Virtual PC format, which also wouldn't work because it split the file into several files.

Also, I used the True Image product to convert the .tib file to VMWare and then used the VMWare conversion tool to convert the VMWare image to VHD, and that also doesn't work.

Lastly, I sent a support email on this from the Acronis website about 2 weeks ago and have never received a response.

I purchased this product for this specific need and it is not working. Please advise.

    Hello JeffOwen,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Remote Workstation Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for delayed response.

Could you please let me know your Acronis request number (e.g. [Acronis #123456]) which was sent to you in autoreply to your letter? I will find out how the investigation of your issue is going. If you have not received an autoreply then please send us a Private Message containing your e-mail address.

Please make sure you use the latest build of both Acronis True Image Echo Workstation and the respective Acronis Universal Restore. To get access to updates you should first register your software. Don't forget to create Acronis Bootable Rescue Media on the system where Acronis Universal Restore is intalled.

Could you please clarify, does "it split the file into several files" refer to the .tib archive or the resulting file? Please also clarify, what was the problem with converting into VMware format? Was there any error message?

    Thank you.

I am having problem with a newly purchased version of Acronis Echo Workstation and Universal Restore also. I'm old Acronis customer for years. Workstation build 8163 has a missing .dll file and will not permit a rescue disk to be made. Rather than showing me how to get a version that works, they sent me an ISO file link to download that they say will boot the target computer after ISO file transfer to a CD but it doesn't work either. If it would the idea is that my backup to external hard drive would then transfer to new computer. My also prepaid incident number is Acronis #1834648. So far two Acronis people have answered and they just continue to send the ISO image link. My next step is to disclaim sale and then try free VMware Player and Transporter to transfer everything to target machine. Goodbye Acronis after 9 purchases and 4 years. Your technical help used to be great.
